Thank you, hans and NullNull.
Yes, The Realms... where non-humans can reach high levels and where you can keep your characters throughout adventures.
Now, maybe, we should go back to the original topic...

There seem to be a few people who know FRUA since the 1990's. I have to admit that I wasn't too fond of Heirs, but mostly played around with the editor just for fun.

I hadn't bothered with the poll earlier, but since it seems as if people are talking about it, what the hey...

1999 - doing development work in Malawi and being somewhat bored when not "putting out fires" in my district, I had an acquaintance get their hands on a mutli-disc set of Gold Box AD&D games during a trip to South Africa, including FRUA.  Sadly, I was much more focussed on playing through the Pool-Curse-Secret-Pools saga, so I didn't even look at UA until years later, and it was more years after that before I even considered working on designs.  Still kicking myself for coming to the party so late...

"I had no shoes, and wept.  Then I met a man who had no feet.  So I asked him, "Hey, man - got any *shoes* you're not using...?"

Heirs to Skull Crag is generally considered an act of reverse psychology.

SSI tempted us to prove what FRUA could do, after they provided such an amazing example of what not to do.

A lot of us have considered remaking Heirs over the years, fixing bugs and just "bettering" it, but at it's root is a story that feels so bland that it's never actually received an upgrade.

i'm a complete newbie - 2020 for me, late in the year. fell in love instantly when i discovered there were so many cool campaigns for it, and amazing work like The Realm series. guess it's never too late to get into something, just very blessed and happy that people are still playing it and enjoying it here! :)
