I just did a search on charm person, found something that kinda worked and thought I'd point to it and say "hey guys, check this out". Sorry for the misdirect.
Hey, no worries. :) There are actually several other github (and sourceforge) projects that are related to DC. Plus, there is an "old" official archive and a "new" official archive. Not to mention a couple of forums. ;) Then you also have derps like me that update one place and forget the other ones they have been posting to...

By the by, that project by grannypron is an attempt at recreating a Goldbox game in DC - Pools of Radiance (as ported to FRUA by Ray Dyer, so a conversion of a conversion), if you are nterested..

I wan' exactly clear what Manicus was speaking about on the first page about the spell texts, but you don't have to go to the db test file if you don't want to, but the problem of the spell saying the target is charmed, whether or not it is, and the rat bite telling me I'm diseased when I'm not, is surprisingly simple.

If you look at the Charm Person or the Charm Person or Mammal spell, there's a line near the bottom that gives you a message when the spell is cast. In this case, "/c charms /t" for c=caster and t=target.

If you changed it to "/c tries to charms /t" it makes more sense. Same with the cause disease spell saying "diseases" instead of "tries to disease"

The Charm Monster Spell actually says "/c casts charm monster" which you might also use I guess, changing monster to person
