Started it with Lv 5-6 characters from AT1 but I needed to level up till my wizards didn't get 2 fireballs at level 6, that means I returned to AT1 and did all missions there... Now the funny thing I am sure I have played it before 10 years but what I am playing now is a bit different that I remember

Spoilers:

At start there was a big fight with draconians and it took me some time till I passed it...

Then I have cleaned village, and went trough numerous draconian fights... It is very cool and for me Dragonlance is new at least playing it... It really felt great, undead beasts, mystical wizards, hursh world ect...

Then story went to some watchtower and we needed to reach it trough woods, nand another large group of Draconians were after us... We found mine, explored it, it was full of Remorhaz and some snow lizards, green in color, like dragons but without wings. Very nicely done...

We went back on trail and found some temple of Chemosh, full of undeads. Cleaned it and freed slaves there... Cool thing is that some areas were not able to turn on automap. Very cool for seeing things from first eye perspective, but for larger area party get lost...

After that we reached village and had fight in tavern with all draconians there... It is tough all together but amazing, and my first experience fighting draconians, portraits and all about them is great...

Continuing the adventure... Btw it was cool that there was winter and snow in game, it has Christmas feeling, but a bit scary.... found out that DL can be a bit scary... Spoilers:

After that we went to explore town and found large gathering of Draconians parpering to go to Gargauth outpost... We needed to get there before them and somehow we found kender spy from outpost who knew secret underground road... We were discovered eventualy by draconians and they were after us...

Kender was not able to find keys quick enough so we had to fight them, later got trough all traps we could on our way and finaly we went to magical portal but was attacked by ice golems when we exited...

Those guys were very hard and later Ice mage showed up too... And that fight for my group was too tough, problem was that I could not level up any of party members and there are just too many golems with lots of hps 45 and magical ressistance except some for fireballs (they do 3-6 dmg)...

So it seems I will have to do another adventure and level up my characters if I ever want to pass it... like this in Dragonlance world, and that is Denizen: Release of Chemosh...

Just finished this myself.

Glad there was a sequel but it was to short and it kind of reminded of the ice fields in Seceret of the Silverblades where it's just constant combat with Draconians instead of Cockatrices.

One thing I did do was take my characters re-add them to AT-1 and replay with level 5/6+ characters from the beginning which was cool as I went and explored everything and got duplicates of all the high-end goodies and then went back to AT2 and kicked ass without any worries and maxed out my characters.

Wish there was an AT3.

"AT2: Dark Wizardry" was meant to be the second of a trilogy of full size modules.  It was supposed to be every bit as large in size and scope as the original (the third one was supposed to be titled "AT3: Dark Abyss").

However, during the creation of the game, I had a terrible hard drive crash.  It was completely unexpected.  I knew I had backed up a copy of my work onto a CD (this was the era where burning things on CDs was all the rage, after all).  But, I apparently misplaced the CD.  I misplaced it so well that almost 25 years later, I have *never* found it.

I had sent an early copy of the game to some playtesters, but when I asked them if they could send the copy back to me, none of them still had it.

This lead to a situation where the prospect of restarting was just too much, as I'd already put a year or so into the sequel.  Instead, since cut scenes in games were becoming all the rage, I decided to take a narrative approach to the sequel, figuring I could do the story in chapters.  Instead, it ended up killing the momentum for the project.  Like you, I was not happy with the final results either.

The only proof that I even did the work happens to be a time-lapse video I took with my first digital camera in 2001 pointed at my CRT monitor showing me playtesting and going through the various files in FRUA.  I did it to initially show that work was coming along great, and if you slow it down or pause, you'll see there were a lot of locations and such (all of which were done) that don't exist in the version that was released.

True Heroism, if You ask me, making cool modules... I am actualy a lot behind all that, only starting to play now Curse of the Azure Bonds and also Champions of Krynn from Gold Box series...

I don't know... I just wish to learn to make games like best designers here, really bad... I will keep trying... I want to do 3d versions of places then transfer it to DC/FRUA, also AI brings a lot to making better art for modules though it can be tricky, but what for sure is that now is that AI can be used to improve art and continue some story, meaning story can be continued with AI created figure characters from starting picture...

I sure would like to see this module continued, or anything else from same author... I just need to make my own campaign started... and probably will try to make some improvements on some modules or at least to learn from them.

I need to continue to play Temple of Elemental Evil by Ray Dyer, btw 3e version is up on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/3843520/The_Temple_of_Elemental_Evil/

What I really like about this module is idea of bringing together 2 campaign settings in one game... I think I would like to see more of it and will try to do something like that eventually too...
