Don't know if there are others here who are linux users but I've been a long time Ubuntu(MATE) user for many years and it's my daily driver for everything including gaming.

Myself personally I'm a a retro gamer i.e DOS gamer so for me my first intro into gaming on linux was with DOSBOX and Wine and getting games through abandonware or GOG.But I certainly had my difficulties in getting things to run smoothly but over time with improvements to Wine and Wine front-ends like WineGui and the native linux GOG client Minigalaxy playing all the old DOS games and a lot of older Windows games is pretty much seamless now.And when it comes to FRUA after the introduction of Module Manager playing all those designs is seamless also.

I don't really play to many modern games but with Steam gaming in linux has progressed by leaps and bounds especially with Ubuntu so much so getting Steam to work properly with Ubuntu is a major priority with each new release particularly with LTS releases.

I had Ubuntu few years ago, probably ten or more, and I remember it being ok, though not that supported as Windows, also I had Linux Mint if I remember good...

I have a friend who swears by Linux, and after having used a Steam Deck for a year, I saw how Linux could definitely be a contender.  Only thing that keeps me from switching is that I do daily development in Visual Studio in Unity, and I'm not sure that I could move that over to Linux easily.

I'm also a user of Photoshop Elements and a couple of other Windows only tools that I don't know if they would work on Linux.  I wish Linux got proper ports of everything so that it was a real danger to Windows.
